123 – Territories – published in September 2006 Terminal Cycle Vitruvian School, Paris – Teachers: Chantal Doussous, Gege Delbet, Isabelle Tarjot (Teachers) – Quentin Martel (music Teacher) – Emmanuel Quarquille (Professor of visual arts) Minos and Theseus is wrong you! The birth of a show in our school, the terminal cycle group consists of 45 children aged 10, under the responsibility of a teacher.

However, many teachers are also involved, either to the group meeting in its entirety or as part of support groups. This year, they support geometry workshops, spelling, as required. In September, we visit an exhibition at Bagatelle on labyrinths of facilities, then we visionnons documentaries about the symbolism of the labyrinth and Greek Mythology. Children are documented on The Minotaur, Theseus, Daedalus and Icarus.

We read several versions of Theseus and the Minotaur class. Children wonder why Ariane is abandoned on Naxos. The assumptions are not lacking, and we decided to conduct our own investigation. We write the skeleton of our history, in the form of a police investigation, with the starting point, the loss of Ariadne. In parallel, we are mathematical and artistic research on labyrinths.

We also resolve to invent songs. This year’s project will be “labyrinthine” college homework helper

John St. Maurice is a town rich in historical relics from different periods: the tower, porches, a church with frescoes of the eleventh century, the oppidum, the manor of La Mure Chantois of the sundial, etc. After discovering this richness, exploring each location, asked many questions, the children realize an inventory.

With their master, they establish various work projects, some emerge from the field of art. Armed with notebooks, lead mines and charcoal, they chew on everything that catches their eye. They also take many photos that become sources of exchange, critical analysis, new discoveries, new knowledge, etc. One site in particular retains their attention: the front door of the mansion La Mure Chantois. Normal!

Indeed, this is where all students pass this village, for generations, to enter the school that occupies the mansion. Why such a door and that represent? Everyone has his sketches, charcoal, blood; details never noticed until then revealed: at the top, with a symmetrical pattern, in the middle, a devil holding a shield.
